you started as a tiny seed
tucked away safe and warm
slowly you sprouted

inching your way towards the light
towards existence

still to delicate for the world
you emerged, perfect
a delicate bud
requiring love and special care
you struggled to live

opening your petals
for one brief moment
you shared with the world
your sweetness
your love
your beauty

then slowly your faded away
wilting before our eyes
slipping from us
